| Notes | The aim of this cruise was to carry out a plankton survey for herring larvae to study the influence of the front (and its breakdown) on the transport of larvae and in particular to determine whether the distribution of larvae is split at this stage into a group which is transported south (and probably remains in UK coastal waters over winter) and a group which is transported to the east. Additionally to study the vertical and horizontal distribution of herring larvae and also to deploy Argos buoys at two depths in the area of the herring larvae sampling and collect samples for studies of growth and mortality.
