Attendance Allowance Claims

Attendance Allowance is a Social Security Benefit paid to qualifying claimants who are aged 65 and over and have a physical or mental disability which is severe enough that they require help caring for themselves, for their own or someone else’s safety. It is paid at two rates, currently £54.45 per week for the Lower Care Rate and £81.20 for the Higher Care Rate.

The datasets listed her are an extract of UK data, filtered to show Attendance Allowance claims in the Glasgow Area. Data is collated quarterly and divided into the 694 geographic “datazones” in Glasgow. Data shows total number of claimants, claimants age range, claimants gender, claim duration and rate of award etc. Data covers years 2003 - 2013. All counts have been adjusted using a variant of controlled rounding to avoid the disclosure of any personal information. All cells have been rounded to base 5 and the total equals the sum of the disaggregation shown. Please note that any counts that are shown as zero may not be a ‘real’ zero. . Although all small area totals are within 5 of the true value, aggregating them to form Local Authority totals is not recommended due to the fact that it is the sum of rounded figures.
