The data has been captured from original title deed maps held by the Council and each record depicts the indicative extent of a land acquisition based on an interpretation of the title deeds. The land parcels shown may be subject to constraints such as trusts, leases, covenants, easements and minor interests or public rights (including: highways, public footpaths, commons or village green registration) or may be subject to permanent or temporary statutory controls. The usage or purpose of any discrete land parcel should not be inferred from the current Ordnance Survey map and any queries about the usage, purpose or provenance of the land ownership or control must be referred to the Council's Property Team. It is not possible to define the temporal extent of this dataset accurately as many of the records relate to land acquisitions made by predecessor authorities, which either vested in or transferred to Mid Sussex District Council.
