Title | Location Of NO2 Diffusion Tubes
|
Notes | Glasgow City Council is required to review and assess air quality within its area. These reviews are the basis of local air quality management and are intended to compare current and future concentrations of key air pollutants with the objectives set in the National Air Quality Strategy.
The National Air Quality Strategy has set and updated target concentrations for eight key air pollutants - benzene, 1,3-butadiene, carbon monoxide, lead, nitrogen dioxide, ozone, particles and sulphur dioxide. Glasgow City Council is required to undertake a continuing review of these air pollutants within its area. [More Info](http://www.glasgow.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=7950) Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) Diffusion Tubes are used in the monitoring of ambient atmospheric NO2 to give an indication of longer-term average NO2 concentrations. They are useful for identifying areas of high NO2 concentration, particularly when dealing with sources such as traffic emissions, which do not change much from day to day. This dataset provides the current location of diffusion tubes using Ordinance Survey OS GB36 coordinates. Contains [Ordnance Survey data](http://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/) © Crown Copyright 2013. |
