Title | Litter Complaints (LC) by Multimember wards and Postcode district
|
Notes | Data shows litter complaints received at the contact centre of Glasgow City Council. The fields in the dataset include: Litter Bins Not Emptied/Overflowing, Litter Dropped by Public, Litter on land and on the streets. The figures represent the number of complaints received on a monthly basis between June to October 2014.
Although the council provides litter bins at various points throughout the city, each individual is responsible for disposal of their own litter. Litter must be taken home if there is no bin nearby or kept until a bin is spotted later on. For cigarette smokers they may wish to carry a personal ashtray to dispose off cigarettes. Fines of £80 are issued to anyone littering the streets and this includes people leaving cigarette ends on the streets, more information including fines imposed can be accessed [here](http://www.glasgow.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=3639) Data supplied by [Public Health group](http://www.glasgow.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=3639) which is part of the Clean Glasgow campaign of Glasgow City Council. © Crown copyright 2014. |
