| Notes | This list shows the number of full and provisional licence holders with penalty points categorized by age and gender within Glasgow City Council. Data valid as at 2014-08-16
The penalty points as well as driving licence applications and other information that updates the records of the individual drivers changes from time to time on DVLA's database and this information is accurate as at the date provided. It is also worthy to note that DVLA has no influence to impose court sentences. Each driving related offence is determined on merits and the courts exercise their discretion with the penalty imposed reflecting the seriousness of the offense and personal circumstances of the offender. In a small percentage of cases where the driver has accumulated 12 or more penalty points, DVLA understands that the court can exercise its discretion and not disqualify the driver especially where it will cause substantial hardship for the driver. © Crown Copyright 2013.
