Title
Carbon Monoxide (CO) concentrations: Glasgow
Notes
The main outdoor source of carbon monoxide (CO) is currently road transport, in particular petrol-fuelled vehicles, which in 2008 accounted for 46% of Scotland's emissions. The Air Quality Strategy objective for carbon monoxide in Scotland is a maximum of a running 8 hour mean of 10mg/m3 (11.6mg/m3 prior to 2002), to be achieved by the end of 2003.

CO concentrations are measured at various sites in Scotland and data stored in the Scottish Air Quality Database (SAQD). The SAQD also collects data produced by data collectors in the UK Automatic Urban and Rural Network (AURN) and this data is classed as a subset of SAQD. The two methods employ different collectors and collect data at different intervals. The number of sites may change from year-to-year depending on areas identified as problematic. The dataset presented her is an extract of data showing measured Carbon Monoxide concentrations for the Glasgow area from 1990 - 2012. Data was collected from both the Scottish Air Quality Database (SAQD) and the Automatic Urban and Rural Network (AURN) datasets. The full Scottish dataset published by the Scottish Government is available for download from [Scottish Environment Statistics Online](http://www.scotland.gov.uk/seso/DatasetSearch.aspx?TID=9).
