| Notes | The Burrishoole catchment, upstream of the main traps at Salmon Leap and Mile Race, has been surveyed annually since 1990 with surveys of the salmon and trout stocks taking place in the rivers and main lakes. Electrofishing, with 3 fishing depletions, is used for salmonids in the streams and fine mesh beach seines are used in the lakes. The survey takes place once a year in the rivers and lakes.
Data collected includes the following: Densities of yellow eel, juvenile salmon and juvenile trout at 40-50 sites, fish (per m2) and lengths of individual fish. |
