| Notes | This layer compiles all the sites of geological heritage interest identified at county level and surveyed to date as part of an audit of County Geological Sites. Completed county audits include: Carlow, Clare, Sligo, Kildare, Kilkenny, Meath, Fingal, Roscommon and Waterford (as of May 2013). These sites are of County Geological Site (CGS) status and included in the relevant County Development Plan for protection. Some of these CGS might be at a later stage recommended for NHA designation to NPWS. A report is available for each these CGS.
