This includes personal identity information; details of the individual’s occupation; and information such as smoking habits to establish exposure to asbestos. The data is captured by Appointed Doctors at the time of the statutory medical examination, through voluntary completion of a survey questionnaire. Among other things, this allows HSE to prioritise inspection activity, monitor competence of those working with this carcinogenic substance. Statistical (non-personal) information is published periodically in Health and Safety Laboratory research reports, etc. |
