| Notes | Flood and Coastal Risk Management - Incident Management: Statutory (Sealed) Main Rivers is a 1:10,000 scale dataset that defines statutory watercourses designated by Defra (England) or Welsh Government (Wales). Water courses designated as main are generally the larger arterial watercourses. The Environment Agencys powers to carry out flood defence works apply to main rivers only. Critical Ordinary Watercourses (COWS) are also included and are a subdivision of ordinary watercourses responsibility for which lies with the Environment Agency. This is a spatial dataset.
