Title
Dublin City River Catchments and Drainage Areas (Santry, Tolka, Camac, Poddle and Dodder) - Dublinked™ . Sharing Data, Information and Ideas
Notes
The Greater Dublin Strategic Drainage Study (GDSDS), commissioned in 2001, carried out a strategic analysis of the existing foul and surface water systems in the local authority areas of Dublin City, Fingal, South Dublin, Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown and the adjacent catchments in Counties Meath, Kildare and Wicklow. The Study area comprises over 50 foul and stormwater catchments varying from dense city centre development to suburban streams and rivers. Foul drainage is a mixture of separate and combined systems with storm overflows to watercourses. The storm systems include separate stormwater drains, local watercourses and larger rivers. Data outputs include Final Reports and Strategy Document (Phase One), Computer Modelling for verification assessment (Phase Two) and summary of Needs, Options and Sustainable Drainage Strategies (Phase Three). Dublin City Council is making available the baseline spatial information on the larger rivers in the Dublin City Council part of the study area. The Regional Policy documents are available to view athttp://www.dublincity.ie/WaterWasteEnvironment/WasteWater/Drainage/GreaterDublinStrategicDrainageStudy/Pages/RegionalDrainagePolicies-OverallPolicyDocument.aspxA dataset for each of the GDSDS catchment drainage areas has been created, with a subfolder for the rivers Santry, Tolka, Camac, Poddle and Dodder. Each folder containing details of the Phase 1, Phase 2 & Phase 3 reports, the InfoWorks CS (hydrological modelling tool) models and the area take-off data used in the hydraulic modelling. Drawings in .pdf format have been omitted but are included in MapInfo format. The river catchment data, includes drainage network (open watercourses, pipework and culverts), identifying basements and hydraulic performance, exceedence levels,100/200 year flood extents etc . Background spatial information is also contained in subfolders namedtab fileswithin thedrawingsfolders. The main reports are also included in word format. Further information on the data is outlined in the Data Guidance Notes word document.Spatial projection for the drawings is MapInfo format (.tab) and the model is InfoWorks CS (.iwt)
