This dataset consists combines data generated by a number of studies between 2004-2011 including reports, guidelines and spatial biodiversity mapping to characterise the Green Infrastructure associated with the designated strategic greenway network (SGN) in Dublin city.The digital data contains the results of habitat mapping for the SGN project integrated with the results of other Level 3 habitat mapping (Fossit classification) studies commissioned by Dublin City Council (Irishtown Nature Park, Liberties, DCC section of the Dodder); Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Council (DLR section of Dodder, without OSI baseline data) and Ballymun Regeneration Ltd (Ballymun), which was used with the permission of the commissioning bodies.Level 3 Habitat data is mapped as polygons or area features and linear data for walls, hedges and tree lines. Data with point information includeSites of invasive species along watercourses, Ecoserve, 2009andDublin City Rare Plantsstudy, as well as an updated digitised map for five city parks St Annes, Bushy Park, LeFanu, Springdale Road and St Kevins. Level 2 habitat mapping exists for the entire city.This collection of biodiversity and habitat datasets facilitates construction of the most up to date digitised geo-spatial habitat map of Dublin city. They assist in identifying the mostgreenroutes of the Strategic Green Network and could be read in conjunction with cultural heritage datasets towards including heritage rich urban greenways. Metadata for the level 3 SGN mapping is available in word format. Reports are available in word and pdf documents with associated excel spreadsheets in some cases. Spatial data formats include Shapefile and Mapinfo, projection ITM (Irish Transverse Mercator).
