| Notes | The results gathered were contributed by a number of cruises for this report.The main aims were to;i) Carry out a plankton survey using a 76cm high speed tow net to determine the distribution and abundance and of the planktonic stages of crab (Cancer pagarus), spider crab (Maia squinado) and bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) and other ichthyoplankton.ii) Study the vertical distribution of crab larvae using the Longhurst Hardy Plankton Recorder (LHPR) sampler.iii) To carry out a plankton survey using a 76cm high speed tow net to determine the distribution, abundance and production of sole eggs as part of an International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES) coordinated programme.iv) To investigate the diurnal and vertical distribution of egg production using the LHPR.
