| Notes | Plankton surveys were carried out using the 53cm High Speed Townet fitted with a Ministry of Agriculture Fisheries and Food (MAFF) Guideline Conductivity Temperature and Depth (CTD) monitoring system in order to determine the distribution and abundance of crab (Cancer pagurus) larvae. Also to use a fine mesh auxilliary sampler with a 20 micron mesh at selected stations to determine the distribution of scallop (Pecten maximus) larvae and to take additional plankton samples in areas of highest abundance of larvae to estimate haul to haul spatial variability.The cruise also sampled for sole (Solea solea) eggs and larvae and deployed an ARGOS satellite tracked drifting buoy to track the drift of crab larvae in La Chapelle Bank area.
