| Notas | A Local Area Plan (LAP) is a legal or statutory document prepared by trhe Council in accordance with Part II, Section 20 of the Planning and Development Acts 2000 - 2013.
The concept of LAP's within the framework of higher-level plans (such as Regional Planning Guidelines and County Development Plans) are to provide more detailed planning policies for areas where significant development and change is anticipated, without having to prepare very detailed local planning policies and objectives for many specific areas within county development plans. The Planning Authority (the Council) and An Bord Pleanala must take account of the provisions of an LAP when considering an application for planning permission for a development located within the area defined by a local plan. This dataset contains the defined zoning boundaries for all current LAP's within County Roscommon including Ballaghaderreen, Boyle, Castkerea, Cootehall, Cortober, Elphin, Hodson bay, lough Key, Monksland, Rooskey, Roscommon Town, and Strokestown. |
