| Title | GIS Dataset of UK Air Quality Management Areas

| Notes | The compilation of the annually updated Geographical Information Systems (GIS) dataset of Air Quality Management Area (AQMA) boundaries in the UK is produced on behalf of Defra and the Devolved Administrations by Ricardo-AEA under the UK Ambient Air Quality Assessments Contract. The updated dataset includes information on changes to AQMA boundaries up to the end of the previous calendar year.
The information contained within the Bureau Veritas-Transport & Travel Research Ltd. AQMA database is used to derive a list of Local Authorities who have declared, amended or revoked AQMAs since the last update. These Local Authorities are contacted to request a GIS dataset describing the location and extent of their AQMA(s). Different methods are then used to process the data received from local authorities in order to produce an updated UK dataset. Contact Carol.Hrynkiewicz@defra.gsi.gov.uk to request data. |
