| Σημειώσεις | On the basis of census results and annual results of processing of statistics of natural and mechanical population movement, population estimates are produced for both the Census and the post Census years.
Also, according to the results of the latest census, the population estimates in the previous inter-census period are being revised. Estimated number of inhabitants, together with the data of statistics of births, deaths and the internal displacement of population (by age, sex, type of settlement ...) constitutes a basis for annual calculation of basic demographic indicators. Also, based on the estimated age-sex structure of the population and demographic indicators trends (using cohort-component method), future trends of population are being projected. Usually it comes to medium-term perspectives (that relate to the future three decades since the last Population Census). |
