| Notes | Key national indicators of poverty and social exclusion, persons and households in 'consistent poverty', at risk of poverty rate, persons below the poverty threshold, deprivation and income. The results are classified by sex, age group, household composition, tenure status, urban or rural location, principal economic status, highest education level attained and region. Deprivation indicators include: Unable to afford a meal with meat, chicken or fish every second day; Without heating at some stage in the past year; Unable to afford a morning, afternoon or evening out in the last fortnight; Unable to afford new clothes, etc. The Health-related variables are: Medical card; Private medical insurance; Chronic illness or disability; Limited activity; Health Status; Smoker. Income measures include: Gross household income, Direct income, Social transfers, Tax and social contributions, and Net disposable income.
